Dr. Troy Rahn
Dr. Rahn has been helping people live to their full potential since 2010 in his clinic in Byron, IL. As a chiropractor with over 13 years of wellness lifestyle experience he is committed to promoting health and living a life drug free for the entire family.
Dr. Troy grew up in Lanark, IL and began chiropractic care as a 15 year old with lower back pain and sciatica from a football injury. After care he could play basketball that same year in high school. Along with the lower back pain, he had migraine headaches, allergies and asthma since the age of 4 which were resolved with chiropractic care.
After attending Millikin University Dr. Rahn went to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and graduated in 1997. He practiced for 10 years in Byron and received his Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner certification in 2007. At that time he moved overseas to serve with his wife Marddi, a 15 year US Navy Nurse. At that time he was employed at the MWR fitness center in charge of personal and group training. This expanded his views to not only be a good role model for his patients chiropractically, but also in his overall lifestyle. While there he helped coach people not only in weight loss, but also healthy lifestyle choices and living.
In 2010 he moved back to Byron to start a wellness center that could truly help and change our communities overall health and productivity.
"Joining Wellness University is one of the best choices I've made. My blood pressure had been an issue over the last year and a half and I was putting on the pounds. I had prided myself on being healthy, but I was getting raised brows from my MDs. and I just wasn't feeling well. Since my involvement with the Rahn Family Wellness Center I've been able to get a blood pressure that was once in the 140's- 150's over 110 range to 110 over 70. My weight has come down and I am feeling much better. My family has benefitted from the education I have received. I have learned so much about nutrition and exercise.I'm more focused on exercising safely and being aware of my Maximum heart rate and target heart rate zones. I now lift weights. We are eating more fresh fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I am exercising more and feel guilty if I miss a day. I brag on the program to extended family, co workers, and friends. My dilemma is all live and work outside the Byron area and it is difficult to get to Byron, but I now hear classes are available on line, so no excuses. My mom was in town from Minnesota and was able to take back some of what I learned and has lost 18lbs. Wow! My grocery shopping habits have changed. I now buy more organic. I don't get worked up over the price. The way I see it, it's better to pay more now, than suffer later. I work in a profession where I see first hand the illness, disease, etc. that people suffer in some ways due to poor choices in diet and maintaining their body.I am far from perfect and still slip up, but when I do, I get back on track quicker than I used to. God Bless Dr. Troy and all those involved in Wellness University. You are changing individuals, families, and communities. Thanks for all you do. Please feel free to share if this will be of help."
Do you find yourself asking these questions:
Organic vs. Non-organic and when and why to choose each?
When and how much exercise do I really have to do?
How can I reduce stress in my life?
Do I really have to put my body through a cleansing process to be healthy?
How do I lose weight when I have tried everything else?
Unfortunately we live in a world where it seems everyone has an underlying purpose for teaching. The intent of Wellness University is to simply educate and empower my community. Nothing is being sold except knowledge and my passion for changing the health of my community. Simply put it is the right thing to do.
